Send an E-Card: Shanghai Expo 2010

Shanghai Expo 2010 E-Card - Slave Screen

Part of the award winning Ireland Pavilion at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, this interactive allowed visitors to email a greeting card from the Expo to themselves or their friends. The display included two screens: a “master” screen with a virtual keyboard, which allowed visitors to select and send a card, and a larger “slave” screen that displayed the selected cards and animations to spectators based on callbacks received from the “master”.

Following the theme of “Better Cities – Better Living”, the Ireland Pavilion was designed to present Ireland as an open economy with a fascinating history.

Exhibition Designers: Martello Media

For this project, Karina developed the E-Card interactive as a Flash kiosk standalone to a design by Originate Creative.

Working with Karina has been great over our last few projects. Having someone at the other end who just ‘understands’ what we do and what we want saves us a huge amount of time. Having worked with many developers over the years it’s always good knowing that the code that comes back will be clean and thoroughly tested, so we never hesitate to work with her.
