The Fingal Community Facilities Network provides a networking support structure for managers, staff and volunteers of community facilities across the county of Fingal. The project is supported and funded by Fingal County Council’s Community Development Office. The website features a page on each community facility and includes information on the facility, its activities, location, and photos. The website also features resources for community groups as well as news and events happening around the Fingal County Council supported Community Centres network.
The website was developed in WordPress, with a bespoke and responsive theme, based on the Roots/Sage starter theme, pre-processed with Webpack, Scss, and Blade templates. It’s built on top of the Bootstrap 5 framework to be responsive across mobile and desktop devices.
Linda Ennis, Principal Community Development Officer commented on the launch: “This website is the result of four years of successful collaboration between our office’s Community Facilities Management Support Unit and the Fingal Community Facilities Network. The website was developed by a working group comprising of representatives of the Network and the Community Development Office. Together with the web designers Neo-Archaic they have produced a website which will be an extremely useful and accessible tool for any member of the community to see what services are available to them at their nearest Community Centre.”
