Healthy Ireland is the national Framework for action to improve the health and wellbeing of everyone living in Ireland. It is a government-led initiative that aims to create an Irish society where everyone can enjoy good physical and mental health, and where wellbeing is valued and supported at every level of society. Healthy Ireland aims to create an Ireland where health and wellbeing is on everyone’s agenda in a meaningful way.
The goal for the website was to make it the one-stop-shop for everything you need to make a workplace a Healthy Workplace. The primary audience for the site would be the employers and employees tasked with building this healthy workplace framework and our task was to provide them with guidance on where to start and all the necessary documentation for them to succeed. The main challenge lay in presenting a wealth of resources and information in such a way that both first time and experienced users would be able to find what they needed. To that we designed multiple navigation paths to the content with the ones designed for first time users focussing on a few, essential resources for their first steps, and a resource library that is both easy to use, with the options to filter down the content in multiple, intuitive ways, and is easy to maintain and update.
During the project we organised two user reviews with a number of organisations and redesigned some features based on the feedback.
The website’s bespoke design is responsive across mobile and desktop devices. It was developed in WordPress, leveraging HTML 5, JavaScript, Rest API, and the latest Bootstrap 5 framework.
Whilst investigating other organisation’s websites, Neo-archaic were recommended to us and they subsequently won the tender to develop the healthyworkplace.ie website. From the start, both Martin and Karina were unfailingly helpful, knowledgeable and patient and guided us through the process with understanding and good humour. They were quick to respond and willing to help at every turn. We are extremely happy with our website which has received lots of positive feedback and we would have no hesitation in recommending Neo-archaic to any organisation.
